PHLT 290 - TOPICS:
This course introduces undergraduate students to fundamental concepts and research designs used in epidemiology, an important perspective of population health. The course contents would assist the learners to build essential skills and competencies on ethical reasoning, comprehension of scientific methods, critical thinking, and ability to analyze public health information. GLOBAL PUBLIC HEALTH: In this Course, students will learn public health principles and practices needed to work in a worldwide public health setting, particularly in neglected, underserved, and resource-poor populations. After completion of the course, students will be able to understand the principles of health in the context of development, human rights, cultural practices and globalization. This course will give students a look into the challenges, controversies, and priorities needed to serve at risk and at need communities worldwide.
