CRWT 101 - CRITICAL READING AND WRITING I
This course will be devoted to helping students develop the skills required to think and write critically about a variety of texts. Students will strengthen critical reading skills by studying how a piece of writing produces its effects. Students will study the rhetorical aspects of writing, such as tone, diction, implication, audience, organization, sentence structure, and the proper use of evidence. The course will also cover conventional MLA formatting, information literacy, and strategies for revision. The course will include peer review workshops, one-on-one conferences with the instructor, and supplemental instruction provided by the Center for Reading and Writing.
