This non-credit course serves the administrative and academic purpose of designating the successful completion of the career assessment planning module and advising session, the first in the Career Pathways sequence. This self-assessment module will encourage critical thinking, reasoning and reflection on the part of students in the context of career exploration utilizing career assessment software and sessions with advisors to discuss career planning. Students will consider their interests, values and strengths in alignment with various career options and preferences and receive input on next steps.

| BADM 120 - EXCEL EXPERT CERTIFICATION PREP |

This course prepares the student for the Microsoft Office Specialist (MOS) Expert certification exam in Microsoft Excel 2010. Students will learn to navigate Mircorsoft Excel 2010 software and become familiar with Excel's features and capabilities. Ultimately, students will build their proficiency and become prepared for taking the MOS Expert certification exam. MOS Expert certification is a credential recognized by organizations around the world and attests to the holder's proficiency in a particular Microsoft Office product.
Students will predominantly achieve proficiency through hands on exercises, instructor demonstrations, and individualized instructor guidance. In addition, students will take practice exams that emulate the official certification exam. The course covers all of the topics required for the certification exam.

The purpose of this course is to provide a business rationale for sustainability and show how sustainability impacts organizations and their functioning. Corporate social responsibility (CSR) and Environmental and Social Governance (ESG) as well as sustainability models of for-profit and non-profit organizations will be explored.

The business community is a subculture within the larger community, yet its particular demands upon behavior lead to ethical questions that are not common to every part of that community. The market is regulated by competition rather than cooperation, and in the model advanced by many theorists only an interest in profits can guide market decisions. Such an institutional structure does not seem to recognize or represent motivations that are not derived from profits. In the theoretical description of the market, for example, a body of law is necessary to provide common limits of action, but it is the unprofitable nature of disobedience that generates an interest in obedience to those laws. The course will investigate the manner in which ethical discourse may respond to the problems engendered by this unusual institutional structure, relatively new to history.

Transfer students must have completed at least 16 credits at Ramapo.

Strategic Management is the interdisciplinary capstone course for graduating business school students. It integrates all the functional areas of organizations and their management from the perspective of the top management team. Students analyze internal and external environmental factors influencing the determination of company objectives and the development and implementation of related strategies and policies. Students apply knowledge acquired from prior business and liberal arts courses--together with new concepts and frameworks taught in strategic management--as they carry out senior-level case-related assignments and participate in a business simulation.
