LANG 255 - INTERMEDIATE AMERICAN SIGN LANGUAGE I
Intermediate American Sign Language I is a continuation of Foundations of American Sign Language I and II. Through class discussions, pair/group work, simulations, and presentations, students will receive enhancement of the receptive and expressive skills required to communicate in American Sign Language (ASL). Intermediate ASL I includes grammar review and features extensive discussions of Deaf culture, as well as an expansion of vocabulary. The course is conducted entirely in ASL. Students will also write a research paper related to a prominent figure in the Deaf Community. There will also be a service learning component.
