NURS 803 - EPIDEMIOLOGY AND POPULATION HEALTH |
This course will provide students with an opportunity to explore the determinants of health. Students will examine sociocultural, biological, behavioral and environmental factors associated with the distribution of disease. Students will examine epidemiologic data related to risk factors, exposure, and prevention strategies. Students will interpret and analyze data to identify health promotion and tertiary care for patients experiencing acute and chronic health conditions. Students will focus on ways to engage communities in population health activities. Students will identify ways to provide value based care, improve quality of care, and reduce or eliminate disparities to improve health outcomes.
