The MFA in Creative Music Technology culminates with the submission of an individual thesis project and written document, both to be completed under the supervision of one of the Music faculty.. The thesis should exemplify an original approach to creating music with technology, merging students’ classwork experiences together with their planned career trajectories. The thesis should reflect the career path of the student and be executed at a level that exemplifies a highly professional level of skill in the chosen field.
Possible research areas include but are not limited to: technology-based performance and composition techniques, interactive music systems, spatial audio, tools for computer music, music information retrieval, digital audio effects, new recording, mixing, mastering, or production techniques, software development for music applications, etc.
