IBUS 337 - IMMERSION COURSE IN PERU |
STUDY ABROAD: The objective of this study abroad course is to introduce students to fundamental aspects of the business environment and culture in Latin America, in addition to gaining an understanding of the challenges faced by individual nations as they evolved from an era of import substitution (19805) to being significant players in the global economy (19905 and beyond). This course offers a comprehensive overview of the economic and political environments in Latin America, with a focus on Peru. By the end of the course, students will have a better understanding of the economic, social, cultural,
and political environments in Peru. Students will observe how Peru's recent economic and political history has shaped the current business environment for domestic and foreign firms. Several business opportunities will be explored; including the challenges that multinational firms from outside the region
face within Peru, the challenges that Latin American firms face within and out of the region, and the opportunities and challenges faced by entrepreneurs in the country. Students will meet with university lecturers, business executives and government officials from Peru. In line with RCNJ's mission regarding international education, by the end of this course, students will be able to:
