PSYC 358 - CHILDHOOD DISORDERS FIELDWORK |
An applied study of childhood disorders. This course is to be taken in conjunction with PSYC 357 or after completing PSYC 357, and serves to expand knowledge of child psychopathology in an applied setting. This fieldwork course provides an opportunity for students to examine various applications of psychology theory to the field of childhood psychopathology. Through applied experiences, in-class learning activities, research and writing, students will develop a sophisticated understanding of childhood disorders that incorporates psychological as well as genetic, biological, social and cultural factors. Students will spend 60 hours working in a field placement that serves children experiencing and/or at risk of childhood disorders. Due to obligations to community agencies and their clients, admission to fieldwork placement is at the discretion of the psychology faculty. Fulfills Category 7 requirement. Fieldwork Insurance Fee.
