NURS 650 - PRIMARY CARE OF ADULTS/GERIATRICS III |
This course focuses on the issues that are frequently encountered and managed by the family nurse practitioner in the provision of care for geriatric populations in primary and community health care settings. The course will address health promotion and identification and treatment of conditions common in geriatric populations. In addition, students will examine key issues that impact the well being of this population including: legal and ethical issues, pharmacologic
issues, mental health, family dynamics, health education and standards of care. Emphasis will be placed on palliative care and the provision of care at the end-of-life.
