The Ramapo College Jazz Ensemble is open to all students. The ensemble performs a wide variety of styles including contemporary and traditional jazz, rock and funk. The course requires the genuine desire to perform high quality
music and to work with the director and fellow musicians to achieve musical goals. The Jazz Ensemble provides each student with opportunities to enhance and demonstrate his or her individual abilities, as well as, improve music
reading, aural skills, stylistic understanding, and overall musicianship. The Jazz Ensemble is comprised of committed musicians from many academic programs. The instructor will evaluate all interested students and make every effort to accommodate all players, although on a given semester there may be some limitation based on instrument type.
