CIVL 301 - CIVIC & COMMUNITY LEADERSHIP |
The course introduces students to advanced concepts of group dynamics such as goals, norms, cooperation, and communication, civic engagement, as well as reviews the main challenges facing groups such as conflict, decision making, problem solving, valuing diversity, advocacy. Students will participate in class, online discussions, observe groups in action outside class, engage in a participatory activity, and work together on a group project as a culmination of the class. This advanced course is ideal for students who currently hold or have held leadership position(s) on campus and/or outside the Ramapo community.
Course Fulfills a Civic Engagement Minor requirement.
