HIST 257 - 20TH CENTURY EUROPE |
This course examines the tumultuous twentieth century, in which much of Europe descended into dictatorship, waged two world wars, and ultimately destroyed most of the continent. The class will study European social, political, and economic developments. lt will examine Europe on both sides of the Iron Curtain. Finally, it will explore the "Velvet Revolution" that brought down Communism in Europe and promised a new era of unification that has only partially been realized.
