HIST 251 - POLITICS OF EUROPE |
This course will examine the development of political ideas, traditions, and parties in Europe in the past three centuries. lt will pay particular attention to the creation of the European Union and the development ofsupra-national identities. It will repeatedly emphasize the differences among European political systems and the differences between those systems and American political systems.
Students should complete this semester with a solid understanding of the major political movements that emerged in Europe in the 18-20th centuries, as well as the current political landscape of Europe today.
