EATING DISORDERS: This course will examine the many facets of Eating Disorders. We will review symptoms, warning signs, etiological factors including current research on genetics, disordered eating-versus-eating disorders, types of eating disorders, prevalence and those components found in an eating disorder diagnosis. We will discuss assessment and treatment methods and review the theoretical frameworks which inform eating disorder treatment. Types of treatment and levels of care for eating disorders will also be reviewed. The use of lecture, video and group exercises will be incorporated to illustrate course material.
