This one credit intensive coursefocuses on the identification, preparation and acquisition of grant funding for non-profit organizations.*Basic grant writing terminology, types of funding sources and their priorities, the process for acquiring grant funds, essential proposal components, and procedures for submission and follow up of proposals are examined with the goal of preparing students for practice as a social work administrator in a non-profit organization. Issues that arise in the grant writing process, as well as ethical considerations for social workers as grant writers will be also be described.
