ITAL 305 - ITALIAN CIVILIZATION |
This course aims to introduce students to the most important and significant events,
trends, and movements in modern and contemporary Italian culture through the study of history. art, literature, film, and music. By considering different cultural and historical texts and essays, together with the analysis of numerous literary, musical, visual and written works, the course will highlight crucial junctures from Risorgimento and the foundation of the Kingdom of Italy through the rise of Neorealism in post-World War II Italy, to the ‘9Os and beyond.
