ENSC 390 - TOPICS:
The descriptions and topics of this course change from semester-to-semester, as well as from instructor-to-instructor. Prerequisite: varies with the topic offered. This course combines lectures, case studies, field activities and a variety of assignments to provide students with deeper understanding and experience about a variety of critical topics in the area of field ecology. Classroom activities, field trips and independent research projects (for which each student conducts field observations, gives a presentation and writes a paper about relevant literature) are closely linked to provide the background and authentic learning experiences that help students better understand field ecology. Topics include animal tracks, scatology, restoration ecology, spring migration, and ecological succession.
