POLI 235 - INTERNATIONAL POLITICS |
This course introduces students to the field of international politics within the discipline of political science. It focuses on the nature of the international system in general by examining the levels of analysis and leading international relations (IR) theories, including realism, liberalism, constructivism, critical theories, and decision-making. In addition, we will survey a range of contemporary international issues such as security, terrorism, conflict management, economic globalization and development, international law and organizations, U.S. foreign policy and grand strategies, and transnational issues pertaining to human rights, poverty, and environment.
