The descriptions and topics of this course change from semester-to-semester, as well as from instructor-to-instructor. Prerequisite: varies with the topic offered. CHEM 450 MEDICINAL CHEMISTRY. This course will introduce students to the language and theoretical foundations of Medicinal Chemistry. Students will learn the historical origins of therapeutics. Some of the topics that will be discussed in this course include: Drug Discovery, Combinatorial Libraries, Receptors, Enzymes, DNA Interactions, Drug Metabolism, Prodrugs and Drug Delivery Systems.
