This course extends the students' prior knowledge of physiology, chemistry and microbiology to include changes that produce signs and symptoms of illness in a single organ system. Pharmacological interventions used to address these pathophysiological responses are introduced. The nursing interventions that correspond to the pharmacological interventions are examined.
