MATH 253 - PROBABILITY |
This is a calculus-based probability course. Topics include: axioms of probability,
sample spaces, laws of probability, conditional probability, Bayes' Theorem, random
variables, discrete and continuous distributions, expected value, variance, covariance,
and moment-generating functions, multivariable distributions and functions of a random
variable. The course will also include the standard convergence theorems, e.g., the law
of large numbers and the central limit theorem.
