ENSC 103 - INTRODUCTION TO ENVIRONMENTAL SCIENCE
This course explores critical environmental issues from a scientific perspective. Basic scientific concepts are introduced and then applied to gain an understanding of environmental issues associated with human population growth, consumption and management of natural resources, global climate change, various forms of pollution, energy, and the preservation of biodiversity. Emphasis is placed on the key scientific principles needed to understand, analyze, and respond to these issues. Experiential learning (e.g., field trips, field research projects, attendance at environmental events) are included. ENSC 103 can be used to fulfill the General Education 100-level science requirement; it is also required of Environmental Science majors.
