EDTC 662 - THE GLOBAL CLASSROOM |
This course explores ways in which, at all levels, students' global/multicultural/international awareness and knowledge can be expanded and intensified through interesting and imaginative applications of communications technologies. Audio conferencing, videoconferencing, cable television, video production, audio production, satellite imaging, and particularly the internet (for research, audio and videoconferencing, instant messaging) will be utilized to explore such areas as: global news media, comparative coverage of international issues, and others such as human rights/censorship, climate change and international wildlife tracking, global music and film, international copyrights, ethnic communities/broadcasting in the US (radio and TV), the UN and other international organizations, global religious networks, international sports, etc.
