EDTC 625 - MEDIA LITERACY |
This course provides teachers with the opportunity to develop and expand their understanding of the complex functions and applications of the mass media and new media technology information industries, including newspapers, magazines, books, television, radio, film, computers and web technologies. Through discussions, readings, group projects, papers, and case studies, teachers will examine and define media as tools for learning and setting agendas for children's priorities and shaping their values. Further teachers will be required to examine and recognize the complex ways media competes as a second curriculum for our students. Finally, teachers will create, develop, write and product audio and media projects for studies analysis and classroom application considerations.
