A consideration of the major concepts, methods, and issues involved in the management of the world's renewable resources. Varying cultural and historical perspectives regarding resource use are explored, together with relationships between population, carrying capacity, production, consumption, and disposal. Global and local uses of land, water, forests, rangelands, agriculture, oceans, minerals, and fuels are examined.
